His research focuses on structured quantum waves and their applications in quantum communication, quantum computation, and materials science. He has published over 180 scientific articles in top-level peer-reviewed journals and is a co-inventor on 3 patents. He was an Associate Editor of the New Journal of Physics, Journal of Optics, and Optics Express. He is a Visiting Professor at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light Erlangen-Germany. Moreover, he is a Fellow of the Optica, a member of the Global Young Academy, a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada, Visiting Fellow of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light Erlangen-Germany, and a Fellow of National Research Council Canada-uOttawa Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics. For his achievements in structured quantum waves, namely quantum communications, quantum sensing and quantum simulation, he received the 2018 Ontario Early Researcher Award, the 2019 uOttawa Early Career Researcher of the Year Award, the 2020 Herzberg Medal (1971 Nobel Prize in Chemistry) from the Canadian Association of Physicists, and 2022 Arthur B. McDonald (2015 Nobel Prize in Physics) Fellowship from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and 2023 Rutherford Memorial Medal (1908 Nobel Prize in Chemistry) from Royal Society of Canada.

Following the Woman-Life-Freedom uprising, he made notable contributions to mobilising youthful cohorts within and beyond the boundaries of Iran. In fact, his team organised social movements by fostering conversations and meetings amongst the Iranian diaspora and marginalised peoples. They set up a supply chain and an extensive network specifically aimed at assisting the opposition and those under significant risk. These efforts encompassed the delivery of medical assistance and aid, financial support, and provisions for free internet access to activists within Iran. Their team collaborates closely with numerous organisations, activists, and private sectors, all united in their endeavour to assist the people of Iran.
